In the name of God Amen I John Plomer of Ashwell in the County of Hertford
yeoman being sick in body but of sound and pfect memory praysed be Almighty God
for the same doe to ad A requiem to my thoughts A satisfaccon to my family and A
certain settlemt of the estate wch God hath beene pleased to inrich me wth make
and ordeyne this to be my last will and Testamt And First and principally I
committ and bequeath my soule to God that gave it me hopeing through the meritts
of Jesus Christ my saviour to have full pdon and forgiveness of all my sins And
my body I bequeath to the earth to be decently buryed by my Exectr hereafter
named And as touching that wor[l]dly estate that it hath pleased God to lend me
for this life I doe give devise and bequeath thereof a followeth And First I
give unto the poore of Ashwell aforesaid Twenty shillings to be bestowed in
bread at the discreccon of my Exectr Item I give and bequeath unto my two
daughters Martha Bygrave and Mary Osbourne Five and Twenty pounds apeece of
lawfull English money to be paid wthin six months after my decease Item I give
and bequeath unto my two grandchildren Thomas Chapman and John Chapman Twenty
shillings apeece to be paid wthin twelve months after my decease Item I give
unto my grandsonn Willm Osbourne Forty shillings Item I give unto my
grandchildren Richard Mary Sarah and Ann Bygrave Twenty shillings apeece Item I
give unto my grandsonn John Plomer Twenty pounds to my grandaughter Ann Plomer
Twenty pounds to my grandaughter Sarah Plomer Tenn pounds of lawfull English
money to be paid to them wthin three months after my decease Item I give unto
the said Ann Plomer One bed and bedsteed wth the furnitue belonging to it wch
standeth in the buttery chamber Item I give unto my sonn Thomas Plomer and his
now wife the sume of Tenn pounds to be paid wthin six months after my decease
Item I give and bequeath unto my sonn George Plomer and his heirs forever All
that my messuage or Tenemt wth the appteynance in Ashwell aforesaid wherein I
now dwell And also One Close of pasture lying next to Lords meade north
conteyning by estimacon Five acres more or lesse And also all those sev[er]all
peeces and p[ar]cells of Free and Coppyhold land conteyning by estimacon Foure
fifty acres more or lesse given to me in and by the last will and Testamnt of
Willm Plomer my late father deceased all the rest of my reall and p[er]sonall
estate whatsoever I give unto my said sonn George Plomer & his heirs whome I
make and ordeyne my sole Exector of this my last will & Testamt In witness
whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seale to this my last will &
Testamt conteyned in one sheet of paper the ninteenth day of February in the
Eleaventh yeare of the Raigne of our Sovraigne Lord Willm the Third by the grace
of God of England Scotland Frances and Ireland King defender of the faith &c
