This is the last Will and Testament of me Jonathan Picking of Ashwell in the
County of Hertford Carpenter I given and bequeath the use of all my Furniture
and other Effects to my wife Sarah Picking for her life but if she finds it
necessary I authorise her in her discretion to sell the same and apply the
produce to her own use and in case any furniture or effects shall remain at the
decease of my said wife Then I direct my Executor hereinafter named so soon
after the decease of my said wife as he conveniently can to sell all my said
Furniture and Effects whatsoever (my Tools and Implements of Trade and Wood I
have disposed of to my son Frederick Picking) and I direct my said Executors
after payments of all my Funeral and Testamentary Expenses to divide the produce
of the said Sale amongst my six children Jonathan Picking Frederick Picking
Abraham Picking Amos Picking Ann the wife of Joseph Thurlow and Naomi the wife
of John Waldock and my Granddaughter Rebecca Hagger in equal proportions share
and share alike I appoint my brother Isaac Picking to be my Executor I revoke
all other Testamentary dispositions In witness whereof I have hereunder set my
hand this Twelfth day of June One Thousand eight hundred and forty seven
